I looooooove this crafty little necklace for helping to teach Sparks and Brownies about Camping/Hiking safety! This age group loves to make necklaces, and these ones include three important survival elements perfect for the activities these kids will be doing: Flashlight, Whistle, and Compass.

We always give our Brownies whistles to wear as we head into outdoor activities in the woods or anywhere they may get lost. We have very strict rules about when and how to use those whistles. Never give a child a tool without also giving them guidelines and expectations!
I would also pair this activity with some compass games!
